I was delighted to collaborate with Aris Paliouras on the submission of our paper entitled “Introducing Object-Oriented Programming With BBC Micro:bit And Python: Designing And Evaluating A Hands-On Intervention For High School Students” to the prestigious 28th International Conference on Interactive Collaborative Learning & 54th IGIP International Conference on Engineering Pedagogy Conference 2025 in Budapest (ICL 2025).

🎙️This paper presents new teaching material for high school students in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using Python and the BBC micro:bit, to address the already documented challenges in teaching and learn OOP in terms of pedagogy and cognition.
🎙️The intervention has two objectives: to develop structured learning plans that teach the key concepts of OOP through hands-on activities that stimulate students’ interest, and to assess how well this method improves students’ understanding and motivation. The proposed approach integrates programming concepts, utilizing the Micro:bit’s interactive capabilities to create an engaging and hands-on learning experience.
